Week 6

Week 6

This week we have been busy practising for our class assembly next week - please feel free to come and watch us on Tuesday morning at 9am in the school hall!

Star of the Week

This week our star of the week is Shay. He is so enthusiastic and is always contributing in every lesson. Shay brightens up our classroom with his humour and giant smile. Well done Shay!

PSHE

This week we enjoyed our PSHE lesson with Miss Walsh and Mrs Hudson. We explored 'thunks'. A thunk is a question that has no right or wrong answer. We had relevant debates and explained our opinions to others. We were respectful and understood that it is okay to think differently to someone else. This also developed our speaking and listening skills.

Maths

This week we have been learning the new concept of 'exchanging'. We have been using place value counters to support subtraction across a ten and a hundred. This is where you have to swap a ten for 10 ones if there isn't enough to subtract. Miss Whaley and Miss Mack have been really pleased with our efforts with this new learning!

Design Technology

This week we got to bake our own seasonal tarts. We went over to church on Friday afternoon and we used the kitchen space to complete our cooking outcome. We either chose to make a fruit tart with strawberries, apples and raspberries or a vegetable tart with broccoli, potatoes and carrots. We had lots of fun!
