Week Six

Wow, we made it to the last week of term.

The children have completely blown Mr Walmsley and Mrs Hudson away with all their hard work and perseverance in English.

Our Star of the Week, is ...

Our SKAT's winner this week is ...

To really finish off our week Year 4 won the TTRS battle. Well done everyone.

English

Year 4 have had a busy week in English,  they joined a Virtual School Event with A.F. Steadman and Katie & Kevin Tsang  (Tuesday 21 May) at 10.30am-11.15am

As part of this 45-minute interactive Unicorns vs Dragons schools’ event, students can join in with pencils, pens and paper and be ready to create a monstrous, magical creature and learn about writing their own characters and epic adventures with these expert storytellers. We also had the opportunity to ask the Authors questions.

The children have also completed an independent write. They have compiled their own information booklet about The Magic Kingdom. This has been a really interesting project for the children. They have been learning about Florida in Geography, so they have used all of their knowledge.

Their work has been the best they have ever produced.

Maths

In maths this week, the children have been working on Money.

D.T.

It was the final lesson of DT this week, and the children were asked to add cladding to their designs for pavilions.

The children really stepped up to the challenge and the work produced was amazing. The cladding was to be made from paper. There was a little commotion in class when the pavilions were taken out of the cupboard to find that some had begun to fall apart. Instead of giving up the children all worked really hard to reassemble the structures and put on the cladding.

Well done guys, they looked fantastic.

Everyone in year 4 was so disappointed that Sports Day could not go ahead, but the weather was dreadful.
