Prayer

Prayer at St James'

Prayer is a daily and integral part of life at St James'.

We use a mixture of formal prayer, objects, improvisation, individual and group prayer to build our connection with God. We thank and praise God, we ask for help, we say sorry and we pray for ourselves and others.

Every day we pray during worship, before dinner time and at the end of the day. We also pray when it is needed and this can be for any reason at any time of the day.

Our school prayer was written by our Pupil Voice Group and is used by our whole school, including staff and governors:

Cathy's Craft Club created a prayer box where anybody can add a prayer. This could be a request to be prayed for or someone's own prayer they have written. The prayer slips are available to all children and staff. The prayers in the box are sometimes used in Friday Worship.
