Week 4

Maths

This week we started our learning on 'Building 9 and 10'. We met NumberBlocks 9 and 10 and began thinking about how we can make the numbers using two smaller numbers. We have been representing the numbers in different ways and ordering numbers to 10.

Science Day

On Monday we were off timetable for a whole school science day to celebrate science week.

Each class was given a theme, ours was animals.

Each class learnt about two occupations. Ours were vets and beekeepers.

We enjoyed finding out about what vets and beekeepers do for their jobs and the skills they need.

We also learnt about an inspirational person in the field - ours was Sir David Attenborough who is one of the most travelled people on the planet! There is not a lot he doesn't know about animals. We saw some videos of Sir David in action and looked at lots of different pictures of animals he has come close to in many years.

We learnt that he really doesn't like rats and his favourite animal is a monkey!

At the end of the day there was a science fair in the hall where each class showcased their work. We enjoyed looking round the hall at everyone's learning.

Thank you to Ayeesha, Ellie, Benedict, Onix, Syd and Rylie who did a great job of showcasing our learning.
