Week 5
What a great week! We have had a very hands-on week with lots of practical activities to enhance our learning. We have been working very hard and we are adapting well to the curriculum in Year 1!
Star of the Week
This week's star of the week is...
RE
This week in RE we made some lovely Harvest posters to consolidate our learning about the festival. We understand that this is a festival to thank God for all of our wonderful foods that we are been lucky enough to eat. We also moved on to the Jewish festival - Sukkot. Whilst exploring and researching this festival, we learned that people of Jewish faith celebrate Sukkot by building a Sukkah. We went outside to gather natural resources for the roofs and built our own Sukkah's using Lego!
PE
On Monday in PE with Mrs Wilton we continued to work on our fundamental skills. This week we focused on balance and our co-ordination. It was so much fun!
Maths
This week we have come to an end of our Place Value within 10 unit. We ended this unit by learning about less than, greater than and equal to. We used concrete resources to represent numbers and used the symbols to compare numbers independently.
