Careers Week 2025
This week we have been finding out about different jobs and meeting lots of new people who have come into school to talk to us about their jobs.
Some of our visitors have included:
IT Technician
Imran our IT Technician in school came to talk to us about his career and how he goes into lots of different schools. His job is to look after the technology in schools and fix it whenever their are problems.
Fitness Instructor/Dance Coach
Miss Bryan's daughter Mollie came to talk to us about her jobs as a fitness instructor and dance coach. Mollie teaches at the dance school that she used to go to since the age of 8. She also runs circuit classes at the gym she works at. Mollie put us through our paces when we played a game with her and afterwards our hearts were beating really fast.
Cookstars Owner
Carrie-Anne talked to us about her job which entails her teaching children how to cook. She runs clubs for children where they follow recipes and cook delicious food.
Prison Officer
Noah's uncle Ian came in wearing his prison uniform and told us what it is like to work in a prison and the things he has to do each day. He passed around the belt that he wears when he is at the prison (minus the baton, handcuffs and spray)!
Chef
Chef Dan from CDJ talked to us about his career as a chef. He has recently opened up a new restaurant and spoke about the food he makes in his restaurants.
Wall Artist
Miss Scholfield's Dad came in to speak to us about his job as a wall artist and he showed us some of his amazing murals that he has painted on walls. He then showed us some easy ways of drawing and then we had a go!
Drummer
Miss Whaley's dad came to show us his special talent as a drummer. He is in an Oasis tribute band and we loved seeing his drum set! He played his drums for us and Advait was lucky to have a try himself!
PCSO
We had a visit from Ben who works as a PCSO. He told us about the things he does each day to keep people safe and showed us the camera he wears and talked about how that works too!
It has been a really great week, learning about all the different careers. We added to our career maps each day and then on Friday we drew a picture of the job we want to do when we grow up. Some of the children's minds had been changed from Monday after being inspired by our visitors!
