This half term our topic is 'Animals including Humans'.
This week we talked about one of our five senses 'sight'.
Our eyes help us to see things around us.
We learnt that the dark dot at the centre of our eye is called a pupil. The coloured part is our iris.
When it is dark, our iris will open our pupil so that we can see better. Our pupils get bigger when it is darker.
We tested this by looking into our talk partners eyes and looking at the pupils when we turned off the lights in the classroom. We could see that the pupils got bigger!
Our eyelashes protect our eyes by stopping insects, dust and pollen getting into them.
We drew a picture of an eye and labelled the pupil, iris and eyelashes.
