Week One

Welcome back everyone.

This week has been so busy but such great fun to all be back together again.

Our SKATs winner this week was...

PSHE 

The children worked in teams to produce the tallest tower with paper and tape.

These towers had to stand independently, with no sneaky help.

English

This week in English, the children have been tasked with  presenting a manifesto, detailing which Pupil Voice Groups they would like to work in for the school year.

All the children presented their manifestoes so well.

Guided Reading

The class has started reading BRIGHTSTORM, for their guided reading text this term. This week the children have been finding the meaning of the vocabulary used in the book so far.

Design Technology

This term the children are exploring mechanisms. This week, the children examined how the class fan worked. Mrs Hudson brought in her food processor, one of our students demonstrated how the food processor worked, as it grated Miss Bryans apple. 

Everyone jumped so high when it was first turned on as they didn't realise quite how noisy the processor could be.

P.E.

The children had their first PE lesson in year 5, the class practised their football skills, this first lesson was teaching the children how to use all the areas of their foot to control the ball differently.

The children displayed their dribbling skills. They played a game of keeping their ball in the box, while defenders were trying to get the ball out.
