RE - Illustrating psalms

Geography - Digimaps

We used digi maps to identify changes in land use and transport  in our locality. We noticed the growth in residential and industrial buildings We looked at news coverage of the building of the M65 extension and did a conscience alley looing at for and against building new motorways.

Maths - Investigating the number patterns in the 9 x table

PSHE - Emotions

This week in PSHE we have been thinking about emotions and how we can tell how someone might be feeling just from the expression on their face. First we thought of powerful emotions and made a list on the whiteboard. In pairs, we then chose an emotion and practiced expressing this on our faces. The rest of the class had to guess which emotion we were displaying. Do you think you can have a guess too?

English - Proof reading and editing

We have been extremely busy in Year 4 this week writing our own independent stories in the style of Philip Pullman's 'The Firework Maker's Daughter. We had to proof read our work, looking for spelling mistakes, punctuation errors and any improvements we could make to our vocabulary before editing our work. We then proof read our partners stories and told them one thing that we liked about their story and one thing that would make it even better. Mrs Cookson was really impressed with how well we worked together and how respectful we were to one another when giving feedback.
