Week 4

Week 4

Jump into a super busy week with us in Year 1! This week we have worked on being independent learners and a big focus on our oracy skills! We have built our confidence and expanded our vocabulary in so many subjects! Have a see what we've been up to!

Star of the Week

Our star of the week this week is Yaqub. He has had a super week, with some amazing behaviour choices and he has been a kind friend to all of his classmates! Well done!

English

This week we have started a new unit of learning! We have moved on to our first key text! We are looking at two fiction books written by the same author - Oliver Jeffers. We made predictions using clues that we picked out of the feely tub. We shared our ideas with the class with an oracy outcome.

Geography

This week we explored what the term 'dairy' meant and where dairy products come from. We then identified they were made from milk and come from cows. We were then able to sort images of food and classify the dairy products together.
Then we moved on to investigate Quickies Dairy Farm in Devon and the route they take to export their cheese and dairy products to get to Australia!

Music

This week in Music with Mrs Jacques we were learning how to play an instrument in time with the beat and pulse of a song. We had so much fun using xylophones!
