Happy New Year! We have had a lovely first week back in Reception. The children have enjoyed explored the snow and ice outdoors. They loved smashing the ice up in the water trays! We made frozen nature catchers where the children placed natural objects into trays and filled them with water. We left them outside overnight and looked at how they had frozen the next day. We have been looking at matching numerals and amounts in maths, as well as comparing mass and playing track games, where the children rolled a dice and moved their counter along a track. In English we have started our new book - Juniper Jupiter. This has sparked a superhero theme in class which the children are thrilled about. We have had lots of impressive superhero moves and shooting of webs! We have also been looking at sorting pictures of living things and non-living things.
