Recycling at St James'

We are now encouraging all the classes in school to recycle their used glue sticks and clean tinfoil. Our Eco Team will collect these from each class on a regular basis.

Following a conversation with Mr Hudson, we would like to remind the school community that we have a recycling bin in the hall for used batteries. Please use it!

Eco Group

In Year 5, we were lucky to have a visit from Sally Booth, of Blackburn with Darwen Council, to talk about

Recycling Heroes. We learnt about why it is important to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle our waste and how the local

authority can help with this. We then played The Recycling Game to help us to understand which items of waste can be recycled and which need to go in the general waste. Finally, we were all given activity packs to bring home.

Eco Group 2022/23

We have been busy talking about our new Mission Statement. Following lots of discussion, we have agreed upon:

Help your school become a cleaner, greener place. What will the Earth look like if we don't take action now?

Let's make a pledge to help stop climate change.

Keep checking this page for more information.
