The children have enjoyed working practically in science this week as they explored different types of everyday materials and tehir uses. We compared, sorted, explained and reasoned in our Kagan groups to enable us to identify and classify different materials. The children used lots of new vocabulary (flexible, transparent, translucent and opaque) which also linked to our new guided reading text this week, on materials.
The children took part in role play this week to imagine what it was like on the moon. They created a new vocabulary wall to help with their shared writing next week. We also have lots of aliens in class as the children designed and created their new alien friend!
In PE the children were practising their overarm throw with Mrs Blackburn.
We finished our money unit on Friday and the children practised their shopkeeping skills by buying objects and 'giving change'
