Week 3

Maths

This week in Maths we have been learning how to make arrays. We have learnt that organising numbers into arrays make it easier to count, especially in 2s, 5s and 10s. We learnt the meaning of rows and columns, and how to count efficiently and organise counters into different arrays using word problems.

Science

In Science this week we did some outdoor learning. We went outside looking for different types of plants and flowers. Some of the flowers that we found were daisies, daffodils, buttercups, trees, sunflowers, and wild poppies. We learnt about the difference between wild and garden flowers. We are excited for the next lesson where we can plant our own seeds.

Coronation Day

On Friday we celebrated King Charles II Coronation. We came to school in red, white and blue and we were lucky enough to have a picnic in the playground where our families were invited to have lunch with us. This was very exciting and we loved all of our celebrations. In the morning we had a virtual tour of London - we went on the train, tube, and a London bus! Then we wrote about our trip by writing a letter to our families about our amazing day! Then we made some crowns, using lots of different materials, to wear at our picnic. Then in the afternoon we made portraits of King Charles II. We absolutely loved this activity and we can't wait to show them off to all of our families!
