Week 6

What an exciting week we have had in Science this week. Though some children just preferred to observe when we modelled our version of the Human Digestive system!

First, we modelled the mouth by mushing up Weetabix and banana in a bowl with a little water.  Then we squeezed it down an oesophagus - it was beginning to look pretty disgusting.

Next we scooped this into a bag to represent the stomach and we added vinegar and food colouring to represent the gastric juices and bile. This was getting really yucky!

It then all went in a stocking to represent the small intestine and the stuff began to ooze out. It finally entered the large intestine, rested in the rectum before finally being excreted by the anus in our home made toilet.

What a way to learn!
