Maths - Place Value
This week in Maths we have been looking at place value up to millions. We have been using counters and place value coins to represent different numbers. We have discussed the importance of the place holder '0'. We have also been looking at how to write numbers up to a million in words and numerals accurately. We then moved on to looking at powers of 10 - what happens when you multiply a number by 10, 100 or 1000 and then what happens when you do the inverse of this and divide a number by 10, 100 or a 1000.
Geography - National Parks
We have started our unit on National Parks. Did you know that there are 15 National Parks in Great Britain? Why don't you test your child and ask them to name them? We have been exploring the features and landscape of National Parks too.
