Week 4

Week 4 has been another busy week in class.  In DT we have explored the use of linkages in everyday objects and experimented making our own linkages which we will use in our moving monster design next week.

We have made our own Bean in a Bag experiment in Science so we can see what 'germination' looks like for ourselves. We will observe the bean as it germinates and  becomes a shoot. We will record all our observations and findings in a bean diary.

In English we have started our new unit 'Riddles'.  We had lots of fun describing different objects to our blind folder partners to see if they could guess the object! We used the features of a riddle and our fabulous oracy skills to ensure our clues were relevant and were not too easy or not too hard!

In maths we have been using millimetres and litres to measure the volume of water in different containers. We used our problem solving skills and team working skills to deepen our learning.

STEM day on Friday was a huge success and children embraced all the challenges! Check out more photos on the science page and in the newsletter next week!

What a busy and lovely week!
