Week 1

Phonics

This week we consolidates our Phase 4 learning. We practiced blending both nonsense and real words. This will help us with our Phonics Screening. We played Quiz Quiz Trade with our classmates. This is where we have to walk around the classroom, give our class mate a high five and then we both sound out our word. When we both have read it correctly, we swap words and carry on. 

Religious Education

 In RE this week we looked at 'The Good Samaritan' as part of our My World, Jesus' World unit of learning. We loved reading this story, we were thinking about what we could have done to help the man on the floor. We even acted it out for Mrs Wilton and Mrs Tindall! 

English

 We have started our new unit of learning in English - we are looking at repetitive patterns in stories. Our new text is Zog. We have really enjoyed drawing Zog using a character description and building up to read our new story! We are excited to find out what happens next!

Maths

We have continued learing about part-whole models this week, and advanced onto fact families. We have really impressed Miss Whaley with our mathematical thinking and working more independently in small groups. Have a look at our super work!
