Week 5 (Monday 15th May - Friday 19th May)

Two of our butterflies have emerged!

On Friday, two of our butterflies emerged. It was so good to watch them become more confident to fly as their wings dried. Miss Bryan has taken them home for the weekend and we hope the other two emerge and then we will let them go on Monday 😄🦋

Sorting objects - Metal/ Not Metal

We enjoyed sorting different objects into a group of magnetic things and things that aren't magnetic! We heard some great language from the children and they gained a good understanding of the types of things in and around our classroom that are magnetic.

One Minute Maths

This week, Reception Class have been using a new app on the IPads to help the children with their quick mental maths. We have seen some super subitisers this week 🤩

Outdoor Learning

Bird Spotting and Cloud Spotting

This week the children have been seeing how many birds they can spot in one minute at different times of the day. They loved this and on one occasion one of the groups saw 19 birds in one minute! They loved it so much, they wanted to draw some of the birds they had seen!

They've also enjoyed some cloud spotting, a little time to relax and discuss the different shapes they can see with a partner 🥰
