Week 1

Design Technology

We have added moving mechanisms to the pop-up books that we have made in our Design Technology lessons. Our next step is to add a front cover and the text.

Science

We have started our new topic on Forces. After putting together a mind map to show we know already, we worked in our Kagan groups to answer questions about the forces on a car and how to set up a scientific enquiry.

English Drama

We used drama to explore the character of the Robot Maker, answering a variety of questions about him in role. After working in pairs, some children chose to act in front of the class. Using our oracy sentence stems, hot-seating techniques were used by the audience to ask further questions or to clarify what the Robot Maker had said.

Geography

This week we have started our rivers topic with a vocabulary game called 'ask me tell me'. We learned how rivers start in high ground at the source We plotted the course of the river then matched aerial photographs with OS maps by matching physical and human features.
