Autumn 1

This week, we found different kinds of leaves outside and then used them to create a classification key. We thought about how the leaves could be grouped and then decided on questions to include which would separate them. 

This week, we worked on our working scientifically skills by exploring how many different species of trees there are in the playground. The children worked hard to identify different species of trees and created a map to show the location of different trees on the playground.

We explored teamwork, co-operation and compromise in PSHE. 

We have been learning about internet safety in computing. 

We have been exploring numbers up to 10 million and learning about different ways to represent them. 

This term, our unit in Music is focused on the song 'Happy'. Each week, we listen to different songs around the theme of happiness and we are learning to sing and play 'Happy' on the glockenspiel. 

We have been learning about the Ancient Maya and working on our skills as historians. 

We have been using arrays to explore factors. We know that factors help us to divide.
