This week during our Geography lesson, we learned about the second purpose of National Parks: to welcome visitors to enjoy what the parks have to offer. The children researched a different National Park and had to research different activities that visitors could do, including an activity to appreciate the beauty of the park, an activity to understand the cultural heritage of the park and an activity to learn more about an aspect of the park. The children then had to put all this information into a persuasive leaflet. Benjamin did an absolutely fantastic job with his leaflet! Well done, Benjamin!
In guided reading, we have been reading "Pets & their Famous Owners". We have looked at vocabulary and lots of different types of questions all week. Today, we wrote diary entries from the perspective of the pets and tried to use as much vocabulary from the text as we could. The children have done a fantastic job!
In English, we have been reading 'A Little Princess'. The children analysed the text to draw an annotated illustration of the setting. They did a fantastic job of understanding the old-fashioned vocabulary.
