Getting to know Year One
The children call Miss Valenzuela -Miss V, so much easier to get little voices around.
P.E Days - Wednesday afternoon with Mrs Blackburn.
Friday afternoon with Miss Valenzuela.
On P.E days children come to school in their sports wear.
Reading Books and Bags
These need to be brought in to school daily, to enable your child to be read with as and when.
Children will earn a raffle ticket for every time they read whether that's at home or school. The raffle tickets are put into a prize draw which is draw at the end of every half term.
Each term your child will be given a homework booklet. The pages will be marked week 1; week 2; etc. They only need to complete the weeks work and hand the booklet in on a Monday for checking. The booklet has two pieces of work for each week, at the front is number work and at the back spellings.
Getting to Know the Teacher
Hi I am Miss Valenzuela the new Year 1 teacher. An unusal name but it originates from Spain. Let me tell you a few things about myself.
My favourite colour is red.
My favourite food is Bitteballen, a Dutch meat croquette.
My favourite holiday destination was Cambodia because the sights were amazing. I went with my family, we had lots of laughs and of course the food was delicious. My favourite subject is Science because I find it fascinating and it can be interactive, making it lots of fun.
If I was stuck on a desert island the three things I would take are:
My family - so I wouldn't be lonely.
Endless/limitless supplies of food and water - because I don't want to die.
Bug Spray - I get bitten alive.
